The flat top shell forms the lid and is finished with a faux pearl knob, adding a refined touch and allowing it to be lifted with ease. Inside, the shell opens to reveal a striking hand-painted interpretation of the Irish tricolour flag. Rich green, symbolising Catholicism, Irish landscape and heritage, and vibrant orange, representing Protestantism, tradition and community, are brought together by a flowing band of white, standing for peace and unity. Rather than rigid lines, the colours are softly blended in a painterly style, with the white gently weaving between the green and orange, echoing both the movement of the sea and the harmony the flag represents.
The interior is sealed with a smooth, glossy finish to protect the artwork while enhancing the depth and vibrancy of the colours. The exterior is left largely untouched, preserving the natural beauty of the oyster shell as formed by the Atlantic waters.

Please note that our oyster ring / trinket dishes are individually made to order. Each shell passes through multiple stages of preparation and finishing to achieve a high-quality result. The final protective coating applied to the interior alone requires at least one week to cure properly. For this reason, please allow 1–2 weeks from the order date for your piece to be completed before it is dispatched.
These are wild, natural oyster shells gathered from the west coast of Ireland, and each one varies in size, shape, and natural markings. The average shell measures approximately 2″ × 3″, though some may be slightly shorter or taller, wider or narrower. As each piece is individually decorated by hand, the artwork will also vary, making every trinket dish truly unique. Any embellishments on the shell may change in design from time to time.

Shells are genuinely one-of-a-kind gifts because no two are alike. They are tumbled by the wild Atlantic Ocean waves and shaped by the changing seasons, resulting in varying sizes and shapes. We work with what nature has given us. Variations such as; growth marks, ragged edges, chipped backs, and barnacles make each one special.
Every shell is individually picked, cleaned, prepared, hand-painted and decorated by our artists at our studio in Galway, Ireland.
